What does renting a mobility scooter cost? Every cost in one place

"What does it really cost?" is the first question on the phone, and rightly so: many rental companies put the rental price in large type on the site and the other items appear only in the quote. Below is everything you pay with us, and three things you do not. The amounts come straight from our price table, so they are right even if you read this later.

The rental price

You rent by the week, or by four weeks. Shorter than a week is possible too; the week rate then applies.

• Mobility scooter, disassembling or heavy-duty: €65.35 a week, €234.35 for four weeks, then €7.81 per extra day.
• Wheelchair: €25.50 a week, €44.95 for two weeks, €69.95 for four weeks. A weekend is possible too: €19.95.
• Rollator: €19.95 a week, €34.95 for two weeks, €59.95 for four weeks. Weekend: €14.95.

All prices include 9% VAT. Four weeks is clearly cheaper per week than four separate weeks, and from 4 weeks the delivery fee disappears as well.

Delivery and collection

One amount for bringing and collecting, carried into the room, with an explanation: €29.95 in Amsterdam and around, €49.50 elsewhere in the Netherlands. Rent for 4 weeks or longer and delivery and collection are free, wherever you live.

We call you before the delivery day to agree a time slot, so you do not have to wait around all day.

Damage and theft cover

Every rental includes cover for damage and theft: €15.00 for a scooter up to a week, €39.50 for longer; €5.00 and €14.50 for a wheelchair or rollator. If something breaks or it is stolen, you are covered. Intent, gross negligence and loss are excluded, as with any insurance.

Cancel before the start and this amount is refunded in full.

What you do not pay

• No deposit. Many rental companies hold €100 to €300 until the scooter is back. We do not.
• No cancellation fee up to 48 hours before the start. You arrange it yourself through the link in your confirmation and see exactly what you get back beforehand.
• No surprises afterwards. You pay online when you book and receive your invoice at once. Nothing is added later.

A worked example

A disassembling scooter for two weeks after an operation, delivered in Haarlem: twice the week rate, plus delivery and collection, plus the cover for longer than a week. You see the total on the site before you fill anything in, and the price you see is the price you pay.
